What is Lentisque Essential Oil: The Mastic Lentisque Pistachio, also called Mastic Tree, grows in the Mediterranean region. 300 years ago, young leaves, seed, bark and mastic were used to make medicinal decoctions. The resin is then renowned for its virtues against colds and upset stomach while the gum is chewed to refresh the breath.  Nowadays, lentisque oil is mainly used against bronchitis, sinusitis, eczema and venous circulation problems, while its leaves are still prepared in herbal tea to fight digestive disorders. The essential oil of lentisque is obtained  from the distillation of leaves and twigs of this same tree. Mostly produced in the Mediterranean basin, lentisque essential oil has been used since antiquity and is characterized by an intense fresh vegetal odor.
