What is Wintergreen Essential Oil?

Wintergreen oil is a valuable essential oil extracted from the leaves of Gaultheria procumbens. It is obtained through steam distillation after the leaves are steeped in warm water, releasing beneficial enzymes called methyl salicylates.

Wintergreen oil has a sweet and fresh scent, very similar to peppermint oil. It has a wide variety of uses in foods, teas, aromatherapy, beauty, and household products.
